La Cité des arts de la rue
FAI-AR is a resident organisation at the Cité des arts de la rue in Marseille, which contributes to the local and international development of street arts.
FAI-AR is a resident organisation at the Cité des arts de la rue in Marseille. The Cité is designed to be a 36,000 m2 artistic laboratory and is the only facility in Europe that contributes to the local and international development of street arts.
A whole range of shows and performances are developed in this experimental playground. The seven organisations based here combine skills from creation and training to construction, dissemination and cultural mediation.
The Cité des arts de la rue opened on 30 November 2013. Around one hundred people work there every day.
FAI-AR has multiple workspaces available for artists on its higher education course:
- Rehearsal stage
- Classrooms, meeting rooms and resource rooms
- Construction workshop
- Fully-equipped offices available for former apprentices
- Housing and kitchens
- Storage rooms
It also provides access to the resources and skills of the professionals working on site.
